The Ladder for Greater Birmingham

  • Over 1,000 apprenticeship starts (62% Level 3 or above).
  • VIP visit for apprentices to parliament to discuss the positive impact of the Ladder Campaign and their apprenticeship programme.
  • Introduction of a Birmingham Ladder Apprenticeship Training Agency Service.
  • School visits to offer appropriate information, advice and guidance and support.

The Ladder for Greater Birmingham campaign was launched with the aim of creating 1,000 new apprenticeships across Greater Birmingham and Solihull. GBSLEP teamed up with community development group The Vine Trust, training provider Performance Through People and Birmingham Live, to spearhead a campaign which secured new futures for people across Greater Birmingham. As well as achieving the 1,000 target, the project delivered several additional benefits to the residents of the GBSLEP area. This included information advice and guidance sessions to schools and job fairs to diverse communities.
